Course Title: “Empowered to Thrive” Three-Day Workshop:
Course Description:
Day 1 – Monday
Theme: “Reclaiming You: The Foundation of Self-Care”
● Welcome & Opening Remarks: Introduction by Debra Peek-Haynes.
● Keynote: “The Power of Protecting Your Peace” - Mindset, relationships, and energy.
● Breakout Insights: Guard Your Gates, Your Space Your Spirit, Avoiding Fad Diets, Fuel for the Body.
● Group Workshop: “Move It or Lose It” - The importance of cardio and strength training.
Day 2 – Tuesday
Theme: “Informed & Empowered: Navigating Health and Law”
● Welcome & Context: Understanding the importance of healthcare and law.
● Panel Talk: “What’s Changing & Why It Matters” with a staffer from Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett’s office.
● Strategy Discussion: Advocacy 101, Power in Numbers, Community Connection.
● Interactive Action Session: Personal advocacy plan and connection to resources.
Day 3 – Wednesday
Theme: “Ready & Able: The Resilient Woman’s Survival Guide”
● Welcome & Overview: Debra Peek-Haynes on empowerment through preparedness.
● Workshop: “Prepared, Not Panicked: The $10-a-Week Plan” - Building food storage and organizing pantries.
● Live Demonstrations: Preserve to Prosper, Power in a Blackout.
● Fireside Talk: “Thrive in Every Season” - Closing empowerment and call to action.

Course Title: Our Community Explorers – Building a Better Neighborhood (DISCOVER)
Course Description:
This course is designed to promote community service and positive interactions. We will focus on exploring the development of children within the context of their surrounding community, examining how family, school, and other local institutions interact to influence a child's growth. The children will learn that kindness counts, and they can make a difference right now! Children will learn social norms and develop their sense of self through interactions with family, peers, and community members.

It’s time for HTBI again and we are challenging teens to “Level Up” in their stewardship. So, sign them up because we have 3 nights of engaging and impactful activities!
Day 1: We will host a mini–Reality Fair
Day 2: We will do a local service project together
Day 3: We will host a showcase of teens sharing their talents to the Glory of God (Choir Room)

Course Description:
This course is designed to introduce and reintroduce students to Christian theology and the historical context in which our major doctrines and dogmas were developed. Within the courses systematic and biblical approach to theology, students will have an opportunity to explore Historical Theology while simultaneously connecting its context to the roots and origins of Ancient African Christianity within the Patristic era.
Course outcomes: Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
1. Articulate the major doctrines of Christianity.
2. Read with competence the great and classic texts of Christianity.
3. Articulate and describe key figures, issues and developments in Christian history while tracing the historical development of essential doctrines.
4. Analyze doctrinal approaches made by the great Christian theologians and as well as those in contemporary culture from a biblical and historical basis.
5. Dialogue charitably with others about the key elements of Christian theology.

Course Description:
The Deacon class will provide students with an overview of the purpose of the Deacon in the Christian church. The role and service work of the Deacon varies among denominational churches. This class will focus on the role of the Baptist Deacon in general, including, how Deacons are chosen and the qualifications of the Deacon. This course is for those individuals interested in becoming Deacons at FWBC. We will also review the role and service work of the FWBC Deacon.
